Lot #248

This road blue knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Frederic Deschenes during the 1997-98 IHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Deschenes in the 5th round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. In a career that has spanned 19 seasons, Deschenes played in the QMJHL, AHL, CoHL, IHL, ECHL, QSPHL, QSMHL, QSCHL and the LNAH. ‘The Franchise’ as he was known, holds the record for shutouts in a single Memorial Cup season and was named 1st Team All Star, Goaltender of the year, Most Outstanding Goaltender - Memorial Cup and won the Jacques Plante Memorial Trophy all in 1995-96 for his work with Granby. Freddie also holds nearly every important goaltending record for the Johnstown Chiefs and is the single season record holder for shutouts in an LNAH season.

Sewn to the rear hem of this gamer is the 30-year PHPA anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 58 Goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick, slash and puck marks, paint transfer, abrasions, an un-repaired gash and heavy areas of pilling both inside and out. On the back player number is a beautiful black sharpie signature in Deschenes’ own hand.
