Description
1997-98 Daniel Alfredsson Ottawa Senators Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #142
This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Daniel Alfredsson during the 1997-98 NHL season. The Ottawa Senators selected Alfredsson in the 6th round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a few years in his native Sweden, Alfredsson burst onto the scene as a rookie in 1995-96 and captured the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year. Daniel played in 6 NHL All Star games and was selected a 2006 2nd Team NHL All Star. Internationally, Alfie represented Team Sweden in two World Cups of Hockey, numerous World Championships and 4 Olympics. This steady and proficient point producer spent 17 seasons with the Senators and one last year with the Red Wings before retiring. Holding just about every meaningful franchise scoring record for the Senators, Alfredsson netted two 40-goal seasons, eclipsed the 100-point mark and recorded 444 goals and 1157 points during his standout career.

Proudly affixed to the left breast of this gamer is the Velcro outline of an alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a well-salted fight strap, fine inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Shown above are several beautiful photo matches of Alfredsson wearing this exact jersey during the 1997-98 season. A terrific well-worn, photo matched early career exemplar!
