This green knit jersey by CCM and Cosby was worn by Dale Purinton during New York Rangers training camp in 1997-98. The New York Rangers selected Purinton in the 5th round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. This Fort Wayne, IN native made his NHL debut in 1999-00 with the Rangers. Dale spent all five years of his NHL career with New York. While with the Rangers AHL affiliate in 1999-00, this legendary minor league goon played in 85 regular season and playoff games combined, amassing a career single season best 502 PIMS! In 181 NHL games played with the Rangers this enforcer compiled 578 PIMS.
This size 54 training camp sweater shows nice use consisting of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, un-repaired trauma on the right sleeve seam, washed out bloodstains, material pulls and inner pilling. On the back player number is a beautiful blue sharpie signature in Purinton’s own hand. A beautiful autographed example worn by this legendary pugilist during training camp as a rookie.
