This home white dazzle cloth gamer by Champion was worn by Casey Hankinson during the 1997-98 WCHA season. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Hankinson in the 8th round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Hankinson, a native of Edina, MN spent 4 seasons at the University of Minnesota where he became their Team Captain prior to beginning his professional career in 1998. Hankinson spent a couple of seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and one more with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks as part of a 7-year career that also saw him play for the IHL’s Lumberjack’s as well as the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.
Proudly sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size XL sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and a couple of team-sewn repairs. Shown above is a beautiful photo of Hankinson wearing his home white while proudly sporting the Captain’s “C”. A terrific well-worn example complete with the letter of honor!
