1997-98 Brian Curran Las Vegas Thunder Game Worn Jersey – “5-year Anniversary” - ’30-year PHPA”
Lot #336

This white air-knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Brian Curran during the 1997-98 IHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Curran in the 2nd round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. Curran made his NHL debut in 1983-84 with the Bruins where he played for three seasons. Over the course of a 10-year NHL career, this enforcer played for Boston, the Islanders, the Maple Leafs, the Sabres and the Capitals. This tough guy was always quick to drop the gloves. In 381 games played, this 6’ 5” enforcer amassed 1461 PIMS! He twice eclipsed the 300 PIMS mark setting a single season best of 356 PIMS in 68 games played in 1985-86 with the Islanders. Curran spent a handful of seasons in the minors following his NHL days where he continued to wreak havoc. Following his playing days, Curran went into the coaching profession and was twice named Coach of the Year.

Sewn to the shoulders of this gamer are the Las Vegas Thunder 5-year anniversary patches. Sewn to the back hem are the 30-year PHPA and sponsorship patches. The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. In 11 regular season and playoff games combined, Curran amassed 69 PIMS for the Las Vegas Thunder. A nice multi-patched example that was likely the last jersey of Curran’s playing career.
