This blue air-knit gamer by Nike was issued for use by Phil Housley during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. The Buffalo Sabres selected Housley with the 6th overall pick in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. This native of St. Paul, MN joined the Sabres immediately thereafter and remained with the team for the first 8 years of his 21-year NHL career. Housley would go on to play for the Jets, Blues, Flames, Devils, Capitals, Blackhawks and Maple Leafs. During that time, Phil became one of the NHL’s most prolific scoring defenseman, played in 7 NHL All Star games and earned a 2nd Team NHL All Star selection in 1992. In 1495 career games, Housley scored 338 goals and 1232 points. On the international stage, Housley represented Team USA in the 1984 and 88 Canada Cups, the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, numerous World Championships and the 2002 Olympics. Housley was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the class of 2015.
