1996 Lyle Odelein Team Canada Pre-Tournament World Cup of Hockey Game Worn Jersey NHLPA Letter
Lot #140

This white air-knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Lyle Odelein during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. The Montreal Canadiens selected Odelein in the 7th round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Odelein made his NHL debut in 1989-90 with the Canadiens where he played for 7 seasons and won a Stanley Cup in 1993. Odelein later played for the Devils, Coyotes, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, Stars, Panthers and Penguins. In an NHL career that spanned 1056 games over the course of 16 seasons, this agitator extraordinaire amassed 2316 PIMS. During that time, Lyle had five seasons of better than 200 PIMS, with his single season best coming with Montreal in 1993-94 when he rang up 276 PIMS.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 1996 World Cup of Hockey patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Affixed to the inner hem is the official Nike barcode. While Odelein played in a pair of games during the tournament, Team Canada wore red in both of those games. Lyle wore this sweater against Team USA during the pre-tournament in August. This jersey will be accompanied by an NHLPA letter.
