Lot #183

This white air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Team Finland’s Jyrki Lumme during the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey. The Montreal Canadiens selected Lumme in the 3rd round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Tampere, Finland made his NHL debut with Montreal in 1988-89. Lumme was dealt by the Habs to the Vancouver Canucks during the following season. Jyrki spent 9 years in Vancouver and took part in the exciting run to the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals before finishing up his 15-year NHL career with stops in Phoenix, Dallas and Toronto. Lumme retired after playing for his native Ilves Tampere in 2007, the spot where he began as a professional. Lumme starred for Team Finland over the course of 20+ seasons, playing in the World Championships, 1991 Canada Cup, 1996 World Cup and 3 Olympics.
