Description
1996-97 Vincent Damphousse Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey
Lot #160

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Vincent Damphousse during the 1996-97 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Damphousse with the 6th overall pick in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Vincent began an 18-year NHL career in 1986-87 with the Leafs where he played for 5 years. Vinny next spent a year with the Oilers before joining the Montreal Canadiesn in 1992-93. During his first of 7 seasons in Montreal, Damphousse won the only Stanley Cup of his career. His last stop was in San Jose where he played for 6 years. After 1378 games played, Damphousse had lit the lamp 432 times and added 773 assists for a total of 1205 points. Damphousse, a 40-goal man, was a member of Team Canada’s 1996 World Cup squad and also played in 3 NHL All Star games.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this dry-cleaned size 56 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, a well-salted fight strap and heavy inner pilling. Worthy of mention is some tape residue, having been recently removed from a frame. A nice well-worn example, complete with Les Habitants letter of honor.
