1996-97 Glen Murray Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey

This road black knit gamer by Starter was worn by Glen Murray during the 1996-97 NHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Murray in the 1st round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Murray began his NHL career in 1991-92 with the Bruins and spent the first 4 years of his 16-year career in Boston. Murray would return to Beantown for a 6-year stint to finish his career that spanned 2001-02 thru 2007-08. In between this RW played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Los Angeles Kings. In a career that spanned 1009 games, Murray lit the lamp an impressive 337 times and totaled 651 points.

The game wear on this 1st set size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, pulls and pilling. This jersey was part of the Pens first set of Starter made jerseys in team history and it also marked the last year that the Pens would wear the diagonal Pittsburgh across their chests.
