1996-97 Dave Ellett New Jersey Devils Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #71
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Dave Ellett during the 1996-97 NHL season. The Winnipeg Jets selected Ellett in the 4th round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Bowling Green State University, this Cleveland native made his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Jets where he played for parts of 7 seasons. Ellett then represented the Toronto Maple Leafs for parts of 7 more seasons before calling it a wrap following short stints with the Devils, Bruins and Blues. This steady defenseman was a double-digit goal scorer for each of his 6 full seasons in Winnipeg. His career highs for goals came in 1988-89 when he lit the lamp 22 times. During his career Dave partook in 1129 games and notched 568 points. He also played a key role on the blueline for the Leafs squads that made deep playoff runs in 1992-93 and 1993-94. Ellett played in two NHL All Star Games.

The sleeves on this sweater have been custom shortened for Ellett by the team. The game wear on this 2nd set size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A nice example hailing from this All-Star defenseman’s brief 20-game stint with the Devils. This jersey will be accompanied by a Devils team letter.
