1996-97 Chris Kontos Manitoba Moose Game Worn Jersey Team Letter
Lot #395

This home white knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Chris Kontos during the 1996-97 IHL season. The New York Rangers selected Kontos in the 1st round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. This Toronto native made his NHL debut in 1982 with the Rangers where he played for three years. Chris went on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings and Tampa Bay Lightning before putting a wrap on his 7-year NHL career. This winger also spent several years skating for the Canadian National Team and enjoyed a lengthy minor-pro career that was spent predominantly in the AHL and IHL.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired holes and inner pilling. This jersey underwent both a name and number change after Chris arrived to Manitoba from Quebec in the midst of the 1996-97 season. A well-worn example from Kontos’ last professional season of hockey in North America. This jersey will be accompanied by a Moose team letter.
