Description
1996-97 Bob Boughner Buffalo Sabres Game Worn Jersey - "Seymour H Knox III"
Lot #561

This road black air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bob Boughner during the 1996-97 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Boughner in the 2nd round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He made his first NHL appearance with the Sabres in 1995-96 and remained in Buffalo for the next 3 years. Bob went onto a 10-year NHL career that saw him also represent the Predators, Penguins, Flames, Hurricanes and Avalanche. This tough-nosed defenseman was often quick to drop the gloves and earned himself 1382 PIMS in 630 games played.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the SHKIII patch, to memorialize the passing of Sabres owner Seymour H Knox III. The collar of this gamer has been custom vented for “The Boogeyman”. The game wear on this sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Lest we forget to mention the obvious fight abuse with plenty of washed out bloodstains and a fight strap that has seen better days. Shown above, for your enjoyment, are some video highlights of Boughner letting fly while with the Sabres. Boughner set a single-season career high with 225 PIMS while wearing this sweater. A nice patched example that should please the Buffalo and fight collectors.
