1995 Nick Checco University of Minnesota Game Worn Jersey - Mr. Minnesota 1993 - Photo Match
Lot #303
This road maroon mesh & dazzle cloth gamer by Apex was worn by Nick Checco during the 1995 WCHA season. The Quebec Nordiques selected Checco in the 6th round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. Checco, a Bloomington, MN native spent 4 seasons on the wing at the University of Minnesota spanning 1993-97. Checco was named Mr. Minnesota Hockey in 1993 for being the best high school hockey player in the state, prior to joining the Golden Gophers. Following his collegiate career, Checco embarked on a 5-year minor pro career that spanned the UHL, AHL and ECHL where he represented the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, the Columbus Chill, the Florida Everblades, the Pensacola Ice Pilots and the Rockford IceHogs.

The game wear on this size L sweater is tremendous and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, areas of heavy pilling and more than a handful of team-sewn repairs. Also worthy of mention is a massive team-patched and repaired blowout hole on the left breast of this sweater. A battered road example from a former Mr. Minnesota Hockey.
