1995-96 Stu Grimson Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey 70-year Anniversay Team Letter
Lot #61
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Stu Grimson during the 1995-96 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Grimson in the 10th round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. This Kamloops native made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with the Calgary Flames where he played briefly for a couple of seasons before finding a home with the Chicago Blackhawks. This enforcer would make a name for himself in Chicago, where he played for three seasons and compiled impressive PIMS totals. His NHL journey would later take him to Anaheim, Detroit, Hartford, Carolina, LA and Nashville. Stu would partake in 14 NHL seasons, striking fear into the opposition as he patrolled the left wing. In 729 career games, Grimson amassed 2113 PIMS. “The Grim Reaper” as he was aptly nicknamed, will forever be remembered as one of the most feared heavyweights of his generation.

The sleeves on this gamer have been customized with added room for Grimson. The game wear on this size 56 playoff set sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. The rear collar has been torn, re-stitched by the team and re-torn. On the inside hem is the official Detroit Red Wings game worn jersey and set stamp. Alongside is the official Detroit Red Wings 70-year anniversary stamp. A nice customized example worn by the “The Grim Reaper” that originated directly from the Detroit Red Wings team sets back in the 1990’s. This jersey will be accompanied by a Red Wings team letter.
