Description
1995-96 Rusty Fitzgerald Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #157

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Rusty Fitzgerald during the 1995-96 NHL season. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Fitzgerald in the 2nd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, this Minneapolis, MN native made his NHL debut in 1994-95 with the Penguins. Rusty spent a couple of seasons with the Pens, 25 games all told, encompassing the entirety of his NHL career. Fitzgerald otherwise skated in the IHL, UHL and in Europe. In 2000-01, as a member of the Manitoba Moose, Rusty won the John Cullen Award as the IHL Comeback Player of the Year.

The collar of this jersey has been vented for Fitzgerald by the team. The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, collar pilling and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Fitzgerald wearing this exact jersey during the 1995-96 season. Penned in black sharpie on the collar tag are the player number and year. A nice photo matched offering from Rusty’s brief NHL career.
