Description
1995-96 Mick Vukota New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey Fisherman Logo
Lot #106
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Mick Vukota during the 1995-96 NHL season. After battling his way through the WHL and AHL, Vukota broke the New York Islanders lineup first during the 1987-88 season. He would spend the first 10 years of his 11-season NHL career with the Islanders where he served as the team’s resident tough guy. Mick took on all comers and ended his career with a resounding 2071 PIMS in 574 games played! His single season best PIM total came in 1991-92 when he tallied 293 PIMS.

The sleeves on this sweater have been customized to Mick’s specs by the team with inserts added from wrist to elbow. The game wear is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, inner pilling, stitch pops and some fantastic team-sewn repair work across the front, back and sleeves. Also worthy of mention is a custom skate lace fight strap. The Fisherman crested era lasted a mere two seasons before the team retired them back in 1997. These Fisherman sweaters have been a pretty tough find over the past two decades and with the limited supply that was produced, only figure to increase in demand in the years to come. Here’s an outstanding well-worn example that went into battle on the back of this Islanders legendary enforcer.
