Description
1995-96 Martin Lapointe Detroit Red Wings Game Worn Jersey - 70-year Anniversary
Lot #179

This road red air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Martin Lapointe during the 1995-96 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Detroit Red Wings selected Lapointe with the 10th overall pick in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Martin would spend the first 10 years of his 16-year NHL career with the Red Wings, winning 2 Stanley Cups in the process. He finished up his career with stays in Boston, Chicago and Ottawa. All told this feisty winger played in 991 games and compiled 1417 PIMS in the process, including a span of 6 consecutive years with triple digit PIMS totals.

The game wear on this playoff set size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. On the inside hem is the official Detroit Red Wings game worn jersey and playoff set stamp. Alongside is the Red Wings 70th anniversary stamp. A nice example from the early part of Lapointe’s career.
