Description
1995-96 Ken Baumgartner Toronto Maple Leafs Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #143
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Ken Baumgartner during the 1995-96 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Baumgartner in the 12th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Kenny made his NHL debut in 1987-88 with the LA Kings, the team with whom he spent his first 2+ seasons in the league. Baumgartner joined the New York Islanders during the 1989-90 season and played for the Isles for parts of 3 more seasons. His next stop was Toronto, where Ken suited up for parts of 5 years before parts of 2 seasons with Anaheim and 2 more in Boston. All told this enforcer spent a dozen years running roughshod over the opposition. In 696 games played, Kenny racked up an impressive 2242 PIMS!

The game wear on this size 56 sweater, which incidentally measures larger, consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, abrasions, fine inner pilling and fight abuse. During one of those skirmishes, a massive tear occurred emanating at the back collar and running a good 7 inches downward. This caused the team to remove the nameplate, do some major repair work and then reattach the nameplate, pretty cool for the fight collectors! Sewn to the inside hem is the official Toronto Maple Leafs game worn jersey tagging. A nice offering from this most popular pugilist! This jersey will be accompanied by a Maple Leafs team letter signed by Hall of Famer Ken Dryden.
