Description
1995-96 Josef Beranek Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey
Lot #91

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Josef Beranek during the 1995-96 NHL season. The Edmonton Oilers selected Beranek in the 4th round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. After spending several years playing in his native Czech Republic, Beranek made his NHL debut with the Oilers in 1991-92. Beranek played for the Oilers, Flyers, Canucks and Penguins over the course of his 9-year NHL career. In 2001, Josef retuned to the Czech Republic and played for another 9 seasons before retiring in 2010.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater is solid and consists of plenty of stick and slash marks, board burns, washed out bloodstains, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and inner pilling. Penned in faded black sharpie on the collar tag is “S296”. Still affixed to the collar tag is the original Canucks game worn jersey inventory tag with barcode. A nice decades old Canucks sweater that was worn prior to the team retiring the team colors and crest for the Orca.
