Jaromir amassed an impressive array of hardware during his storied career, which includes 5 Art Ross Trophies as the NHL’s leading scorer, 3 Lester B. Pearson trophies as the NHL’s outstanding player along with the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player in 1998-99. His career totals are staggering. Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this size 54 alternate is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, numerous loose threads and fine inner pilling. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Jagr wearing this exact jersey during the 1995-96 Eastern Conference Finals. The Penguins first broke out their newly designed alternates on January 27, 1996. They continued wearing the new style throughout the remainder of the regular season and playoffs, 14 times in all. Pittsburgh got off to an incredible 11-0 start while wearing their alternates as they made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals, falling just shy of the Stanley Cup Finals. Jagr’s 1995-96 season was simply magnificent. He rang up career single season best totals of 62 goals, 87 assists and 149 points, earning an All Star Game appearance and 1st Team NHL All Star honors. Jaromir finished 2nd behind only Mario Lemieux in goals and points during what was easily the best statistical season of his legendary career! The Penguins gave their fans quite a thrill, making a valiant run at the Stanley Cup Finals for the last time in Mario Lemieux’s storied career while wearing these newly designed alternates throughout those playoffs. A phenomenal photo matched offering that sports the coveted letter of honor and was worn by Jagr during an award-laden season, choice!
