Description
1995-96 Jamie McLennan New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey Alternate Fisherman Crest
Lot #160

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jamie McLennan during the 1995-96 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected McLennan in the 3rd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. McLennan began his NHL career with the Islanders in 1993-94 and spent 3 seasons with the club before moving on to play for the St. Louis Blues, the Minnesota Wild, the Calgary Flames, the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers. This Goalie announced his retirement following the 2006-07 NHL season. McLennan was the recipient of the Bill Masterton Trophy in 1997-98 during his first season in St. Louis.

The 1995-96 season saw the Islanders experiment by going to new colors and a Fisherman crest. The game wear on this size 58 Goalie cut sweater consists of stick, slash and puck marks, un-repaired holes and inner pilling. The Fisherman era lasted merely two seasons on the Island. Now more than 20 years removed from the ice, these short-lived gamers are becoming increasingly more difficult to obtain as collectors realize their value. A beautiful fresh to the hobby Fisherman crested sweater worn by one of the few Islanders Goaltenders to wear the style!
