Description
1995-96 Derek King New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Fisherman Logo
Lot #92
This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Derek King during the 1995-96 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected King in the 1st round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He made his first NHL appearance in 1986-87 with the Islanders and would partake in 11 of his 14 NHL seasons with the team that drafted him. King scored 261 goals and an impressive 612 points over the course of an 830 game NHL career. He scored 30 goals in three consecutive seasons in the early 1990’s; including a career best 40 in 1991-92 with the Islanders.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, plenty of board burns and un-repaired burn holes, pilling and fraying on the numbers, a well-used fight strap and fine inner pilling. The Fisherman crested era lasted a mere two seasons and as such have become quite a popular item among collectors who continue to put them away. A terrific looking well-worn example that is surely worthy of inclusion in your collection of tough to acquire styles.
