1995-96 Darcy Martini San Francisco Spiders Game Worn Jersey - 1st & Only Franchise Season - Spiders Auction Form
Lot #303
This home white knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Darcy Martini during the 1995-96 IHL season, the San Francisco Spiders only year in existence. The Edmonton Oilers selected Martini in the 8th round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. After graduating from Michigan Tech University, Martini began his playing career in 1992-93. He spent time with the Edmonton Oilers in 1993-94, his only season in the NHL. All told this Castlegar, BC boy spent 10 seasons playing professionally across the NHL, AHL, ECHL, IHL and in Europe.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, stitch pops, pulls, pilling and a couple of team-sewn patch-backed repairs. On the left breast of this gamer is a black sharpie signature in Martini’s own hand. It’s hard to beat the awesome team logo and the intricate spidery web-like designs that help make these high demand jerseys so appealing to the eye. It simply doesn’t get any better than a SF Spiders gamer for minor league collectors. Sitting atop almost every minor league collector’s wish list, these examples rarely if ever surface in the hobby. To that fact, this is the first time that we’ve ever had the pleasure of offering one up for auction. A stunning well-worn example of an ill-fated franchise that existed for merely one season, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a silent auction form, dated May 1, 1996, which allowed fans an opportuniy to obtain one of these rare jerseys directly from the Spiders.
