1994-95 Mike Peca Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey – Rookie – “25-year Anniversary”
Lot #41

This road black knit gamer by CCM was worn by Mike Peca during the 1994-95 NHL season, his rookie year. The Vancouver Canucks selected Peca in the 2nd round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Peca made his NHL debut with Vancouver in 1993-94, playing in just 4 games and spent a total of 2 seasons with the Canucks before joining the Buffalo Sabres for a 5-year stint beginning in 1995-96. After suffering a serious injury in 2000, Peca missed the 2000-01 season and resumed his career with the New York Islanders in 2001-02. After 3 seasons on the Island, Peca spent a year in Edmonton, another in Toronto and a final two in Columbus before retiring. Peca was a 2-time winner of the Frank J Selke Trophy as the leagues best defensive forward and represented Team Canada in the 2002 Olympics.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Vancouver Canucks 25-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this 1st set size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Penned in black sharpie on the collar tag is “S1-95”. Still affixed to the collar tag is the original Vancouver Canucks game worn jersey tagging, including their inventory barcode and price. Our consignor purchased this jersey directly from the Cancuks where it has remained in his collection ever since. A terrific anniversary patched fresh to the hobby offering, worn by this 2-time Selke winner during his rookie season.
