1994-95 Mike Keane Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey Photo Match The John Shipman Collection John Shipman Letter
Lot #354
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The John Shipman Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of John Shipman. Mr. Shipman personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his tenure as the Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer from 1988-97. A signed letter from Mr. Shipman will accompany your purchase.

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Mike Keane during the 1994-95 NHL season. This Winnipeg native made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with the Montreal Canadiens where he played for parts of 8 seasons before being dealt to the Colorado Avalanche as part of the Patrick Roy trade. Keane played for Colorado for parts of four seasons while also representing the New York Rangers, Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks. All told this winger spent 16 seasons in the NHL. During that time Mike played in five Stanley Cup Finals, winning three titles. His first was with Montreal in 1992-93, followed by the 1995-96 Championship with Colorado and finally the 1999 Stanley Cup with Dallas.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, plenty of board paint transfer from the Montreal Forum, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Keane wearing this exact jersey during the 1994-95 season. We believe that this was Keane’s first Captain’s jersey, the “C” being applied after assuming it from Kirk Muller after his trade at the 94-95 deadline. Incidentally, the Muller jersey with the stripped “C” is also being offered as part of this fabulous collection. A terrific fresh to the hobby photo matched offering that sports the coveted letter of honor and comes directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer John Shipman and is accompanied by his signed LOA
