Lot #574

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Mike Boback during the 1994-95 AHL season. The Washington Capitals selected Boback in the 10th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. This Mount Clemens, MI native played 4 years of college hockey at Providence before graduating in 1992. He played the 1992-93 season with the Baltimore Skipjacks, then played a couple of year with the Portland Pirates before spending a year with the Phoenix Roadrunners in the IHL and finally a season in Europe’s SEL. Boback starred for the 1994 Calder Cup winning Portland squad, scoring 10 Goals and 17 Assists for 27 Points in 17 Playoff Games en route to the first Calder Cup in team history. Boback tied an AHL playoff record for points in a single playoff game as he netted a hat trick and added 4 helpers for 7 points in Game 5 of the Northern Semi-Finals against Albany.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right breast is the 1993-94 Calder Cup Champions patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and loads of inner pilling. Also worthy of mention is a name and number change by the team. A terrific Championship patched offering complete with the coveted letter of honor and featuring heavy game use by the man who led the Pirates to their first Calder Cup Championship the year prior.
