Description
1994-95 Len Esau/Ryan McGill Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #37
This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was likely worn by both Len Esau and Ryan McGill during the 1994-95 NHL season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Esau in the 5th round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at St. Cloud State, this Meadow Lake, SASk native made his NHL debut in 1991-92 with the Maple Leafs. Len also represented the Nordiques, Flames and Oilers over the course of his five-year NHL career.

The Chicago Blackhawks selected McGill in the 2nd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. This Sherwood Park, ALTA native made his NHL debut in 1991-92 with the Blackhawks. This enforcer went on to play for the Philadelphia Flyers for a few years before playing his final 8 games in 1994-95 with the Edmonton Oilers. In 151 career games, McGill amassed 391 PIMS.

The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and trauma, washed out bloodstains, inner pilling and three team-sewn repairs. Evidence of a nameplate change exists which leads us to believe that Esau wore this sweater prior to McGill. Intriguing, well-worn example by McGill that marked the end of this enforcer’s NHL career.
