1994-95 Kirk Muller Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey – Photo Match – The John Shipman Collection – John Shipman Letter
Lot #351
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The John Shipman Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of John Shipman. Mr. Shipman personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his tenure as the Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer from 1988-97. A signed letter from Mr. Shipman will accompany your purchase.

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Kirk Muller during the 1994-95 NHL season. The New Jersey Devils selected Muller with the 2nd overall pick in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. This Kingston native made his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Devils where he played for 7 seasons before joining the Montreal Canadiens. Muller spent four seasons with Montreal, winning the 1993 Stanley Cup and becoming Team Captain. He would go on to finish his career with stops in New York, Toronto, Florida and Dallas. All told, this center played in 1349 games over the course of 19 NHL seasons. During his career, Muller had five 30+ goal seasons and played in 6 NHL All Star Games.

Removed from the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Muller wearing this exact jersey during the 1994-95 season. Muller was dealt to the Islanders at the deadline of the lockout shortened 94-95 season. We believe that this was Kirk’s last Canadiens jersey, the “C” being stripped after the trade and stitched onto Mike Keane’s jersey for the remainder of the season which incidentally, is also being offered as part of this fabulous collection. A terrific fresh to the hobby photo matched offering, that bears the outline of the coveted letter of honor and comes directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer John Shipman and is accompanied by his signed LOA.
