1994-95 Gino Odjick Vancouver Canucks Game Worn Jersey – “Canucks 25-year Anniversary” – “Canuck Place”
Lot #39
This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Gino Odjick during the 1994-95 NHL season. The Vancouver Canucks selected Odjick in the 5th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. It didn’t take long for Odjick to establish himself as one of the leagues toughest customers. As a rookie in 1990-91, Gino appeared in 45 games and rang up 296 PIMS, setting the stage for how he would become one of the NHL’s all-time great enforcers. Gino spent 8 years in Vancouver where he regularly played bodyguard to Pavel Bure and made a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1994. Gino went on to complete his 12-year NHL career with stints in New York, Philadelphia and Montreal. In 605 career games played, Odjick amassed 2567 PIMS! Gino’s single season best PIMS totals all came during his time with the Canucks. His top 5 single season PIMS totals are 371, 370, 348, 296 and 271, wow! Just this past year it was learned that Gino is suffering from a terminal illness and the Vancouver faithful have rallied to show their love and support for their hometown hero.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Vancouver Canucks 25-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right shoulder is the Canuck Place patch. This jersey has been highly customized with inserts added that extend from the elbows all the way down to the top stripe of the body hem, significantly enlarging this gamer. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, sweat stains, heavy inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. Fight abuse is readily evident with bloodstains, stitch pops, a stretched and popped front collar and a torn rear collar that has subsequently been repaired. As was Gino’s custom, the fight strap has also been cut out of this gamer, a fact that is easily confirmed in the amazing video highlights shown above. Gino played in a mere 23 regular season games and amassed 109 PIMS during the 1994-95 regular season and only 5 more come playoff time while ringing up another 47 PIMS, further enhancing the appeal of this super tough to find and rare sweater. This is a magnificent customized offering, complete with the desirable anniversary patch and donned by of one of the most beloved Canucks of all-time. This prime example would immediately stand front and center in any serious collection of all-time heavyweight gamers, choice!
