1994-95 Eric Desjardins Montreal Canadiens Game Worn Jersey The John Shipman Collection John Shipman Letter
Lot #355
GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The John Shipman Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks, game worn equipment and memorabilia come directly from the personal collection of John Shipman. Mr. Shipman personally collected and preserved these items over the course of his tenure as the Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer from 1988-97. A signed letter from Mr. Shipman will accompany your purchase.

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Eric Desjardins during the 1994-95 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Desjardins in the 2nd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with the Canadiens where he played for 7 seasons and winning the 1993 Stanley Cup, before a deal sent him to the Philadelphia Flyers. Desjardins wrapped up his 17-year NHL career with an 11-year stint with the Flyers. During a career that spanned 1143 games, this defenseman scored 575 points and was selected 2nd Team NHL All Star on two occasions. Eric partook in three NHL All Star games, as well as the Canada Cup, World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics while representing Team Canada.

The game wear on this size 56 sweater is on the lighter side and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Desjardins was dealt to Philly just 9 games into the lockout shortened 1994-95 season, likely making this his last Canadiens jersey. A vibrant fresh to the hobby offering worn by this three-time All Star and coming directly from the personal collection of former Montreal Canadiens assistant trainer John Shipman and is accompanied by his signed LOA.
