Description
1994-95 Curtis Murphy University of North Dakota Game Worn Jersey
Lot #280
This white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Curtis Murphy during the 1994-95 WCHA season. Murphy spent 4 years at the University of North Dakota and became one of their most prolific scoring defenseman in the process. It was his breakout offensively in 1996-97 that helped the Fighting Sioux to the National Championship as Murphy netted 12 goals and 42 points from the blue line. Curtis equaled his points total as a senior and finished his career with 118 points. Murphy’s 32 career goals as a defenseman is 2nd best all-time in UND history. He won numerous conference and national accolades during his last two seasons at UND. Following graduation, Murphy began a professional career that continues to this day in Europe. Murphy played for the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and predominantly spent time in the IHL and AHL before crossing the pond. Murphy was named the Eddie Shore Award winner in 2003 and 2004 as the AHL’s top defenseman.

Murphy wore this size 50 sweater as a Freshman. The game wear is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, heavy inner pilling and some terrific team-sewn repair work. This design is a two-year style and has proven fairly difficult to find thru the years. This adds to the appeal of this well-worn offering, donned by a former NHLer and an all-timer and National Champion at the University of North Dakota.
