This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Nick Naumenko during either the 1993-94 or 1994-95 WCHA season. The St. Louis Blues selected Naumenko in the 8th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. This Chicago, IL native played his 4 seasons of college hockey with the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota and graduated in 1996. Naumenko began his minor-pro career in 1996-97 in the AHL. He played professionally for 14 seasons across the AHL and IHL, while also playing in Europe in the DEL and Swiss-A League.
The sleeves on this gamer have been custom shortened by the team for Naumenko. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, stitch pops, material pulls, inner pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. On the left sleeve is a beautiful autograph in Naumenko’s own hand. The Fighting Sioux wore this style for a mere two seasons and as such it remains a missing link in many UND collections. A well worn customized and photo matched offering that presents a wonderful opportunity for collectors of the Fighting Sioux to acquire a short-lived two-year style of one of UND’s all-time great defenseman!
