Description
1993-95 Chris Simon Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey
Lot #41
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Chris Simon circa the 1993-95 NHL seasons. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Simon in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career in Quebec in 1992-93 and remained with the franchise thru their move to Colorado in what was a Stanley Cup winning season. Simon next joined the Washington Capitals, where he spent 7 years and made another appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. Other brief NHL career stops included Chicago, the Rangers, Flames, Islanders and Wild. After leaving the NHL, Simon spent several seasons playing in Russia’s KHL. This legendary enforcer took on all comers and ended his NHL career with 1824 PIMS. That total included a career high of 250 PIMS in his Cup winning season in Colorado. A fact that may surprise many is that Simon scored a career high 29-goals with the Capitals in 1999-00.

The game wear on this size 58 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, a well-salted fight strap and heavy inner pilling. Terrific fight abuse exists with torn sleeve cuffs, bloodstains, a material run at the front collar and a torn and subsequently repaired rear collar. Simon was one of hockey’s toughest customers and his time with the Nordiques showcased him in his pugilistic prime!
