1993-95 Chris Simon Quebec Nordiques Game Worn Jersey
Lot #12
This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Chris Simon circa the 1993-95 NHL seasons. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Simon in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. This Wawa native made his NHL debut in 1992-93 with the Quebec Nordiques where he played for three seasons. Simon remained with the franchise thru their move to Colorado and won a Stanley Cup later that spring. He next represented the Washington Capitals for 7 seasons before wrapping up his career with stops in Chicago, New York, with both the Rangers and Islanders, Calgary and Minnesota. This legendary enforcer took on all comers and ended his NHL career with 1824 PIMS. That total included a career high of 250 PIMS in his Stanley Cup winning season in Colorado. A fact that may surprise many is that Simon scored a career high 29-goals in 1999-00 with the Capitals.

This customized sweater includes a heavily reinforced rear collar that has been opened up and widened as well as wrist customizations that have since been torn open. The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, fight abuse, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. Simon has signed the back player number in red sharpie and has added a personal note on the lower rear hem calling this a real jersey, and thanking his friend for all the good times before signing the jersey a second time atop the CCM shield. Simon played in just 82 games over the course of his three seasons with the Nordiques, one of the reasons fight collectors covet his Quebec gamers. A tremendous early career offering from one of the 1990’s toughest that ever laced them up.
