Hrkac played a lone season of college hockey for the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota putting up epic statistics and winning the 1986-87 Hobey Baker Award. Hrkac began his NHL career in the 1986-87 playoffs with the St. Louis Blues. Tony spent his first 4 seasons in St. Louis in what would be a 13-year NHL career. He also represented the Nordiques, Sharks, Blackhawks, Stars, Oilers, Islanders, Ducks and Thrashers.
