1993-94 Steve Thomas New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Career Best 42-Goal Season - Photo Match
Lot #103

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Steve Thomas during the 1993-94 NHL season. Thomas, a native of Stockport, England made his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1984-85. Steve spent 3 seasons with the Leafs before joining the Chicago Blackhawks for parts of 5 seasons. Next up was a 4-year stint with the Islanders, 3 seasons with the New Jersey Devils, return trips to Toronto and Chicago before final stops in Anaheim and Detroit. All told this feisty winger spent 20 years roaming the NHL rinks. He compiled 421 Goals and 933 Points, both of which place him in the top 100 in NHL history. Thomas also racked up 1306 PIMS. Thomas was twice a 40-Goal scorer, accomplishing the feat with the Blackhawks and Islanders.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, a stitch popped rear collar, heavy inner pilling, major trauma and a number of team-sewn repairs including a massive sew job running from the rear right shoulder to the lower right hip that includes a large blowout material insert! Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Thomas wearing this exact jersey during the 1993-94 season. A tremendous well-worn photo matched example that was worn at the Nassau Coliseum as Steve attained a career best 42 Goals.
