1993-94 Shjon Podein Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey – Team Letter
Lot #56

This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Shjon Podein during the 1993-94 NHL season. The Edmonton Oilers selected Podein in the 8th round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. This Rochester, MN native played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before joining the Oilers organization in 1990. Shjon made his NHL debut in 1992-93 and spent a couple of seasons with the Oilers before joining the Philadelphia Flyers in 1994-95. After parts of 5 seasons with the Flyers, Podein became a member of the Colorado Avalanche. Shjon spent parts of 4 years in Colorado and won a Stanley Cup with the team in the spring of 2001. Podein wrapped up his 11 year NHL career with a couple of seasons in St. Louis. This defensive specialist was the recipient of the 2000-01 King Clancy Memorial Trophy for his leadership qualities on the ice and his humanitarian efforts off the ice.

The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. A nice example from Podein’s sophomore season that originated from the Peter Pocklington collection. This jersey will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
