This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Russ Courtnall during the 1993-94 NHL season, the Dallas Stars inaugural season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Courtnall with the 7th overall pick in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Russ made his NHL debut with the Leafs in 1983-84 and skated in Toronto for parts of 6 seasons before joining the Montreal Canadiens in 1988-89. Following 4 years with Montreal, Courtnall joined the Minnesota North Stars in 1992-93 and relocated with the franchise to Dallas where he played another couple of seasons. Russ finished up his career with stops in Vancouver, the Rangers and Kings. All told this winger played in 1029 games over the course of 16 seasons. He netted a career best 36 goals with Minnesota in 1992-93 and ended his career just shy of 300 goals and 750 points.
The game wear on this size 52 sweater is on the lighter side and consists of stick marks, board burns and inner pilling. Also worthy of mention are some staining as well as a signature in Courtnall’s own hand on the back player number. A first year franchise example.
