The Ottawa Senators selected Hamr in the 4th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. This Czech native made his NHL debut in 1992-93 with the Senators where he played for two seasons encompassing the entirety of his NHL career. In 1995, Hamr returned to Europe where he continued his career over the next 15 years.
