1993-94 Phil Housley Blues Game Worn Jersey - Photo Match
Lot #74

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by future Hall of Famer Phil Housley during the 1993-94 NHL season. Housley, a native of St. Paul MN, was the 6th overall pick in the 1982 NHL entry draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Phil was named to the all-rookie team in 1983, was a 2nd team NHL All Star in 1992 and appeared in 7 NHL All Star games during his illustrious career. He is among the highest scoring defenseman in the history of the NHL, having retired with in excess of 300 goals, nearly 900 assists and better than 1200 points. His 1232 career points rank Housley as the highest scoring US born player in the history of the NHL.

This outstanding jersey was worn during Housley’s only season with the Blues. In 1993-94 Housley played in a mere 30 games as he transitioned between career stops in Winnipeg and Calgary. In those 30 games Housley tallied 26 points; this was his home gamer from that season. The game wear on this sweater is solid consisting of stick marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. Shown above is a photo-match of Housley wearing this exact jersey in game action during the 1993-94 season. On the inside hem resides the official St. Louis Blues team and set stamp, their inventory number and a Bluenote Hologram. Awesome Hall of Fame jersey that has proved to be one of the most difficult in terms of teams, for collectors to obtain from Housley’s lengthy career.
