This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Glen Wesley during the 1993-94 NHL season. The Boston Bruins selected Wesley with the 3rd overall pick in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. Wesley spent his first 7 years of a 20-year NHL career with the Bruins. His next 13-seasons were spent with the Hartford-Carolina franchise where Glen played until 2007-08. This former NHL All Star defenseman racked up an impressive 1457 games played during his lengthy career, proving his durability over the course of two decades in the NHL. Glen partook in 2 Stanley Cup Finals while with Boston, losing both times to the Oilers dynasty. After another Finals loss in 2002 with Carolina, Wesley and the Hurricanes captured the Stanley Cup in 2006. Wesley is one of only three people to have his number retired in Whalers/Hurricanes franchise history, with Ron Francis and Rod Brind’Amour being the other two.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 52 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust, inner pilling and more than a couple of handfuls of team-sewn repairs. On the inside hem is the official Boston Bruins game worn jersey and set stamp. A well-worn vintage Bruins gamer from this All Star defenseman as he put forth a career best 58-point season.
