Description
1993-94 Garry Valk Anaheim Mighty Ducks Game Worn Jersey - Inaugural Season - “FGW”
Lot #662

This road purple knit gamer by CCM was worn by Garry Valk during the 1993-94 NHL season. The Vancouver Canucks drafted Valk in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After playing 3 years of college hockey for the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota, Valk began his NHL career in 1990-91 with the Vancouver Canucks. After 3 years in the great northwest, Garry landed with the expansion Anaheim Mighty Ducks and spent his next 4 seasons with the club. Next up were parts of 2 seasons with the Penguins followed by 4 years in Toronto and a season with the Blackhawks. All told Valk spent 13 seasons patrolling the wing.

Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the “FGW” patch, encapsulated in Mickey Mouse ears design. The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust, heavy inner pilling and 7 team-sewn repairs. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Anaheim Mighty Ducks game worn jersey and set patch. A terrific well-worn patched example from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks inaugural season.
