This road blue knit gamer by CCM was worn by Felix Potvin during the 1993-94 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Potvin in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Felix made his NHL debut with a brief stint in 1991-92 and then made the hockey world take notice of him the following two seasons as he backstopped his Leafs to the Conference Finals both years. All told “Felix The Cat” would spend parts of 8 seasons wearing the Maple Leafs blue and white. In his 6 full seasons of play, Potvin had catapulted himself into 3rd place on Toronto’s all-time Wins and games played list, trailing only Turk Broda and Johnny Bower. After the Maple Leafs signed free agent Curtis Joseph, they traded Potvin to the New York Islanders in exchange for 1st overall draft choice Bryan Berard. He played parts of 2 seasons on Long Island before the team dealt him to the Vancouver Canucks where Potvin played for parts of another two years. During the 2000-01 season, Potvin joined the LA Kings. He would spend 3 years in LA and in 2001-02 he played in 71 games for the club, second to only his 74 games played while with Toronto in 1996-97. Potvin ended his career after the 2003-04 season which he spent with the Boston Bruins. All told this goalie posted 266 Wins and 32 shutouts over the course of his career. He made the NHL’s All-Rookie team in 1993 and played in the 1994 and 1996 NHL Alll Star games.
Worn during the most exciting time in Leafs nation in the past 35 years as the 1993-94 campaign saw the Leafs make their 2nd consecutive trip to the Conference Finals. The game wear on this size 56 road sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, some burns and areas of heavy pilling. A fantastic example that was donned by “Felix The Cat” during his first ever All Star game season, choice! This jersey will be accompanied by a Maple Leafs team letter.
