1992-93 Sergei Zubov Binghamton Rangers Game Worn Jersey – Rookie
Lot #187
This road blue mesh gamer by CCM and Cosby was worn by Sergei Zubov during the 1992-93 AHL season, his rookie year. The New York Rangers selected Zubov in the 5th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. After spending a handful of seasons playing in his native Moscow, Zubov made his NHL debut in 1992-93 with the Rangers. In his 2nd NHL season, Sergei played an integral role in helping the Rangers to the 1994 Stanley Cup Championship. Zubov spent three years with New York before playing a lone season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. In 1996-97, he joined the Dallas Stars where he remained for the final 12 years of his NHL career. While with the Stars, Sergei helped the franchise to their first and only Stanley Cup in 1999. This high scoring defenseman scored 771 points in 1068 career games. He recorded a single season best of 89 with the Rangers during their Stanley Cup season of 1993-94. Zubov was a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, was three-times an NHL All Star and also has a 2nd Team NHL All Star selection to his credit. Zubov was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the class of 2019.

The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, a heavily stitch popped collar and inner pilling. Zubov made his North American debut in 1992-93 with Binghamton, playing in 30 regular season games while scoring 36 points and going +31. After being called up to the NHL and playing in 49 games with New York, Sergei returned to Binghamton for the playoffs. In 11 post-season games he netted another 5 goals and 10 points. Merely one season later, this dynamic defenseman scored 89 points and helped lead the Rangers to their only Stanley Cup title in the past 82 seasons. A tremendous offering that features terrific game use and hails from this Hall of Famer’s rookie season.
