This road red air-knit gamer by CCM and Eastside was worn by Ray Sheppard during the 1992-93 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Sheppard in the 3rd round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career in 1987-88 and spent his first 3 seasons with the Sabres. Following a year with the Rangers, Ray joined the Detroit Red Wings where he played for parts of 5 seasons and enjoyed a career best 52 goals in 1993-94. Sheppard would go on to play for the Sharks, Panthers and Hurricanes before retiring with 357 goals to his credit.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup Anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, trauma, inner pilling and some terrific team-sewn repair work. On the inside hem is the official Detroit Red Wings game worn jersey stamp. A nice patched example worn by this former 50-Goal scorer.
