1992-93 Matthew Barnaby Victoriaville Tigers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #543

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by Matthew Barnaby during the 1992-93 QMJHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Barnaby in the 4th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He began his 14-year NHL career with Buffalo in 1992-93 and remained with the Sabres for 7 seasons. Matt would go on to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers, the Colorado Avalanche, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars. Barnaby put forth a career single season best 335 PIMS in 1995-96 with Buffalo. In 834 career games, this instigator extraordinaire amassed 2562 PIMS!

The game wear on this size 52 sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and trauma, stitch pops, washed out bloodstains, fine inner pilling, collar pilling and several team-sewn repairs. In 186 games played while in the QMJHL, Barnaby recorded an astounding 1230 PIMS! In 1991-92, Matthew registered 476 PIMS in 63 games. He followed that up during his last season of juniors in 1992-93 while wearing this sweater with 448 PIMS in 65 games played! This jersey was originally sourced back in the 90’s directly from the Tigers trainer. A terrific minor league example of one of the NHL’s all-time great instigators.
