1992-93 Martin Brodeur Devils Pre Season Game Worn Jersey
Lot #30

This road red knit gamer by CCM was worn by Martin Brodeur during the 1992-93 pre season. Brodeur is boldly establishing staggering career totals and will go down in history as the man who turned around the fortunes of a once fledgling franchise. He is continually climbing the all-time Wins chart now with in excess of 450. Brodeur offers the only legitamite threat to Roy’s all-time mark which now appears within reach.

Brodeur continues to build upon his record of consecutive 30 Win seasons, which presently stands at 10. Martin is also the first goalie in NHL history to record four 40+ win seasons. With 12 years under his belt he has yet to have a season where his Goals Against Average was over a 2.70 and he has already recorded two seasons at a sub 2.00 GAA leaving him with a career GAA around 2.20. Martin and his 83 career regular season shutouts are also taking aim at the all-time record which is held by Terry Sawchuk at 103.

As impressive as his regular season success are his staggering playoff totals; with 89 playoff wins, 21 shutouts and a 1.89 GAA, he is leaving his mark as one of the all-time greats. In his trophy case already are (3) Stanley Cups, a Calder Trophy for rookie of the year, (2) Jennings trophies for allowing the fewest goals in a season, (2) Vezina Trophies awarded to the NHL’s top goaltender and an Olympic Gold Medal. He is a perennial All Star and will undoubtedly be a Hall of Fame legend upon retirement.

This old style Christmas colored Devils gamer was worn throughout the course of several pre-seasons by New Jersey Devils goalies. Beneath the Brodeur nameplate is a Melanson nameplate. Rollie the Goalie tended goal in Jersey during 1990-91. There is also evidence of another plate having been removed.  The game use consists of plenty of stick and puck marks, proper goalie pilling as well as some stitch popping in the wrist area. The numbers are all heat pressed and parts of the back numbers have begun to crackle. The nameplate is sewn on to the jersey and the heat pressed lettering is in flawless condition as is the heat pressed crest.
