1992-93 Jon Casey Minnesota North Stars Game Worn Jersey - All Star Season
Lot #650

This road black air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jon Casey during the 1992-93 NHL season. After playing 4 seasons of college hockey for the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota, this Grand Rapids, MN native began his NHL career as an undrafted goalie with the Minnesota North Stars in 1984. Casey would spend 8 seasons representing his hometown team before joining the Boston Bruins in 1993-94. During his time with Minnesota, Casey assumed the number 1 role between the pipes in the late 1980’s and didn’t relinquish it from that point forward. Casey led his upstart team to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1990-91 before succumbing to the Lemieux led Penguins. After a lone season with the Bruins, Casey joined the St. Louis Blues where he spent the final 3 years of his NHL career. In addition to numerous college and AHL accolades that include a National Championship, Casey was an NHL All Star in his final season in Minnesota, 1992-93 while wearing this sweater.

This gamer has been customized by the team with panels added into the sides and arms to give Casey a roomier fit. Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s 100-year Stanley Cup anniversary patch. The game wear on this size 50 sweater is solid and consists of stick and puck marks, heavy pilling around the collar, sleeves and lower body as well as inner pilling and some repair work in the area of the customizations to provide stability. A terrific patched sweater from an All Star season, worn by the local kid from Grand Rapids who manned the pipes in the Twin Cities for 8 seasons.
