1992-93 John Leclair Canadiens Game Worn Jersey - "1993 All Star"
Lot #80

This home white knit gamer by CCM was worn by John LeClair during the Canadiens 1992-93 Stanley Cup winning season. With better than 400 goals to his credit, John clearly established himself as one of the best power forwards of the 1990’s. Leclair, a Vermont native, began his career with the Canadiens in 1991-92. During his second season his timely playoff scoring helped lead the underdog Canadiens to a Stanley Cup championship.

John partook in numerous NHL All Star games and was 5-times either a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star at Left Wing. After his trade to Philadelphia in 1994, Leclair formed a terrorizing duo on the Legion of Doom alongside Eric Lindros for much of the remainder of the 1990’s, wreaking havoc on opponents. He tabbed 50 goals in 3 consecutive seasons and followed them with a couple of 40-goal years before a back injury began taking its toll. He has represented Team USA in the 1996 World Cup of hockey, where he was voted a World Cup All Star, as well as in the Olympic Games. Also to his credit are 2 Bud Ice Plus/Minus awards.

Sewn to the right breast of this sweater is the 1993 44th annual All Star Game patch. Fine game use exists  consisting of stick marks, board burns, plenty of that recognizable Montreal Forum board paint transfer, a good number of un-repaired burn holes and fine inner pilling. The game wear leaves no doubt that this up and coming power forward battled hard while wearing this shirt in what was his 2nd NHL season. Choice example.
